Robotic Mechanical Engineer

Key Role:

Design, fabricate, modify, and evaluate complicated and difficult mechanical and electro-mechanical components, sub-systems, and systems. Prepare design specifications, analyses, and recommendations for presentation and approval. Maintain responsibility for planning, organizing, and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving the design and development of new or improved product and processes. Investigate solutions to product or process problems. Consolidate the results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects. Conduct independent technical investigations involving overall spacecraft vehicle success during manufacturing, integration, facility, and validation planning through launch. Provide work leadership to junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with spacecraft vehicle system testing, including automation

-Experience with state-of-the-art commercial satellite development

-Experience with field testing

-Knowledge of spacecraft

-Knowledge of integrated power conversion and drive systems solutions

-Knowledge of robotics engineering

-Ability to build robust technical business processes that use technology and technicians efficiently to produce high quality and reliable products

-Ability to steer technical decision making throughout spacecraft production to balance overall reliability, risk, client needs, development objectives, cost, and schedule

-Secret clearance

-BS degree in Mechanical Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with SolidWorks, PDMWorks, CATIA, ANSYS, and MATLAB

-Experience with STK preferred

-MS degree in Robotics
