Job Title:Procurement Specialist
Prices, negotiates, and administers the functions of subcontracts, purchasing, and compliance in support of the Company’s existing and expanding business base.
Duties and Responsibilities
Solicits suppliers via RFP, RFQ, and verbal requests
Receives and evaluates quotations and bids for required products
Negotiates with suppliers to obtain COTS products at the best quantity/cost
Interfaces with the distribution staff in the selection of cost-effective shipping sources and identify most efficient transportation needs
Prepares purchase orders and changes for required products
Maintains communication with suppliers during course of procurement action to ensure timely delivery in compliance with the requirements of the procurement document
Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the DRS’ mission, values and culture
Bachelor’s degree with 0+ years related experience
Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS)
Basic understanding of contract/purchase order terms and conditions and familiarity with the government contracting process including sole source and competitive procurements
Familiarity with contract types (FFP, CPIF, CPAF, BOA, IDIQ) and their proper use
Basic awareness of government intellectual property (IP)/software and data rights clauses and IP marking guidelines
Familiarity with source selection / evaluation process including basic cost and price analysis
Familiar with requirements for administration of government property
Familiar with government contract administration duties including subcontract flow downs, change management, inspection, acceptance, payment, warranty, close-out and records retention
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with capability to manage multiple contract tasks and activities
Member of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) and study toward the CPCM designation is considered desirable
General computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
